Replacing SURFACE VALVE with todays universal valve- 003515-000 and all the kits containing will be the same-
You will commonly take two issues more than any

The most common “it looks different”, so customer assumption it is incorrect gets made.
This is due to original being aluminum and new valve being brass - appearance difference should be ignored ( but is correct at valve mounting point)

Or
“It wont install on center burners”
On the early series Vikings, the CENTER BURNER SWITCHES when installed, on occasion will hit the corner of the metal bracket used to enforce the control panel.

This has two options to work around:
Swap your location of need with one of the original outside valve locations. For example……if you are working on center burner, swap the location of need with an outside burner that doesn’t have the bracket in the way-
Swapping the original valves to the center and put the replacement to the outer

However, in events all valves need replacing-
In those instances - you must cut the corner of the control panel brackets with a Dremel tool to complete installation.
